Charlotte Amalie

You might hear the locals say they’re headed to “Town” for the evening. That means they’re headed to downtown Charlotte Amalie, where the streets are lined with bars and restaurants.

The capital of the Virgin Islands, Charlotte Amalie is beautiful by day as the sun shines on its cobbled streets and historic buildings. By night, it’s equally alluring. Stroll along the waterfront downtown area to find a great bar or two!

Taphus Beer House

Rum Island Pub

Located right along the water near Drake’s Passage Mall, this St. Thomas beach bar is the ideal spot for a cold drink after you’ve shopped until you dropped. The rum flows freely at this tourist favorite spot, and the atmosphere is friendly and casual.

Be sure to try the Bushwacker, a cocktail invented right here on the island and named after a guest’s dog! This sweet drink packs a punch with its combination of vodka, Bailey’s, rum, Kahlúa, amaretto, chocolate syrup, and coconut cream.


Just a mile and half from Charlotte Amalie, Havensight is the busiest cruise ship port in the world. So it’s no surprise that you’ll find a variety of resorts, malls, boutiques, restaurants, and bars here. If you’re staying in Havensight, you don’t have to go far for some evening fun.

Starz Nightclub

A hot spot for tourists and locals alike, Starz is the place to go dancing. You’ll find all your standard club fare at this split-level venue, with a Johnny Walker bar downstairs, a Grey Goose VIP bar upstairs, and dance music all night long.
